Zustand: Fair. No Edition Remarks. 523 pages. Half bound in blue leather and blue cloth, with gilt lettering to front board and spine. Contains B&W illustrations and in-text photos, colour illustrated plates, and fold-out table of market prices. All plates present. Pages and plates have slight foxing, tanning and thumbing. (Good to avoid 'foxing' in a book about chickens!) Slight gutter cracking: heavier cracking, exposed binding and shakiness to both hinges. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Liquid stains to pastedowns. Some tears and creasing to fold-out chart. Boards have some edge wear, with bumping and peeling to corners, while spine ends are moderately crushed and peeled. Scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Extensive marks to front board having been cleaned previously. Various white spots. Traces of sticker to front. Book has slight forward lean. Gilt brighter on the spine. Overall, item would not look out of place at bottom of a chicken coop (looks better inside).
