Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. Hardcover. Brown leather binding with black spine label and gold stamping on front and back covers and spine. In good condition, especially considering age, with some wear, discoloration, and scuffing on front and back covers. Spine is significantly faded and worn. Bumped corners on both covers and one larger tear present along fore-edge of front cover. Marbled fore-edge and lower page edging is faded, while the marbled top page edging is still present. Heavy foxing and discoloration on front and back end-papers and free end-papers, as well as on illustration index prior to title page and the title page itself. Two pairs of initials written in black ink on front end-paper and signature in black ink is present on front free end-paper. Black ink "H.C. Fulton M.D." stamp on front end-paper. Some numerical annotations in pencil present on front end-paper and free end-paper. Some foxing present on almost every page. 515 pages. Title page dated 1834. Contains numerous black and white engravings throughout, including an index of engravings concerning various martyrs prior to title page. Despite some wear on covers and foxing on pages due to age, this copy is in remarkably good condition considering age. Binding is still very good and tight with square pages.
