First edition of Whittingham's account of the filming of "Toomai of the Elephants." Small quarto, original cloth, illustrated. In near fine condition. This is the record of Korda's attempt to film Toomai of the Elephants (described as "a glorious failure" in Philip French's essay 'Kipling' and in Gross's anthology 'Rudyard Kipling'). Lavishly illustrated with Flaherty's photographs from the film and off stage.

Zustand: Very Good. Fifth impression hard back binding in publisher's original cornflower blue cloth covers, navy title and author lettering to the spine and to the upper panel. Quarto 10'' x 7½''. Contains 121 printed pages of text with monochrome full page photographs taken from the film throughout. Just a little wear to the spine ends, gutters and corners, ghosting to the end papers and in Very Good condition, no dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A. CHILDREN'S & JUVENILE.
