Draft script for the 1960 film, here under the British release title of "Cone of Silence," with annotations in manuscript ink and pencil on 50 pages, striking and noting scenes regarding music. Based upon the 1959 novel, "Cone of Silence," by David Beaty, which was loosely based on a 1952 de Havilland Comet airliner crash and the subsequent investigations into the plane's structural integrity. A by-the-book airline pilot is scapegoated for a series of accidents in a supposedly safe plane, leading to his death in a plane crash, prompting an examiner to look for a scientific cause for the accidents. Shot on location in Bristol, England. Red untitled wrappers with a die-cut window in the British style. Title page present, with credits for screenwriter Robert Westerby, additional dialogue by Jeffrey Dell, and author David Beaty. 146 leaves, with last page of text numbered 145.
