Richmond is the ideal centre for exploring Swaledale and is reached by modern diesel trains from the East Coast Mainline at Darlington. Located in the Yorkshire Dales Richmond Castle is one of Britain's finest Norman castles built after the Norman Conquest from 1071; the castle was used during World War One by the northern Non-Combatant Corps and is now a Scheduled Monument popular with tourists. Published by British Railways North Eastern Region and printed in Great Britain by Stafford & Co Ltd, Nottingham. Fair condition, tears on edges, pinholes, and several paper losses. Size: 96x64cm.
