Laid in are three typed copies of an original poem titled 'For a Silver Wedding" and headed "To My Dear Friends / Ulla And Heinrich Brugsch / On the Tenth of June 1958". Each copy is signed in full by Heider. Also laid in is a typed copy of "Commitments", the poem on page 15 of the book. Heider has written at the foot of the typed copy the dedication which is printed in the book: "To honor my old friend, / Heinrtich Brugsch. He has also typed above the dedication "/ I made up umbilicords because umbilical cords would not do in a poem. / " This copy is also signed in full. Accompanying these signed typed copies is a handwritten mailing label addressed to Dr. and Mrs. Heinrich G. Brugsch with Heider's return address. The edges of the poems are darkened & chipped.Werner Heider was a German-born poet who fled the Nazis in the 1930s and later worked to restore ties between the United States and Germany. He arrived in New York on New Year's Eve 1936 and became an American citizen in 1944. Heinrich Brugsch was a professor of medicine at Tufts University.

Marz 1955".Laid in is a mechanically reproduced copy of a seven-page manuscript, with corrections, by Werner Heider, headed: "The following condenses the argument of a book with the same title. Prometheus Rebound." The material considers Prometheus as one of "the three heroes symbolizing modern man", along with Hamlet and Faust.

Inscribed in the year of publication and signed by Werner Heider with 6 lines of verse in German on the front endpaper. Additionally laid into the book is a lengthy 2 -page original poem, typed single spaced on two 11 inch high by 8-1/2 inch wide sheets. Titled "For a Silver Wedding" and presented "To My Dear Friends Ulla and Heinrich Brugsch On the Tenth of June 1958". The poem is signed in blue ink by Werner Heider at the bottom of the second page. Folded twice horizontally with tiny tears to the edges of the folds. Slightly creased with some very minor darkening to the right edge, this original signed poem is in very good condition.
