Erhard Weigel was a German mathematician, astronomer and philosopher who was appointed Imperial advisor in the year this short treatise was published (wikipedia). Scarce, with only 3 copies in Worldcat as of this writing, all in German institutions, and it is unclear if they include the portrait.
