Reprint of the first edition from 1933. 47pp. including the illustrated title-page and 22 full-page colour illustrations, and illustrated endpapers. Clifford Webb (1894-1972) was an English artist, illustrator and writer. He is probably best remembered for his animal drawings and children's books. In this book for younger readers he tells the story of two young children, Jennifer and Michael, and the animals they found in Butterwick Farm. The book is bound in the original cream boards with green titling on the spine and green titling with a red and green illustration on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and soiling to both boards and some traces of a child's coloured scribbling on the rear board. There is some wear to the titling on the spine and the spine ends are lightly bumped. The contents are tight and clean with some light foxing and soiling to the endpapers. The free endpapers are slightly browned and there is an inscription dated 1965 on the front free endpaper.

Very Good (boards a little grubby, small loss to head of spine, ink inscription to ffep, with the small discreet blind-embossed stamp of Dr Trevor Weston to the corner of the final page).
