Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine dj. First Edition. [lovely copy, no wear at all to book; jacket shows just a bit of wear along top edge of front panel, small pen-point scratch (no ink) near bottom of rear panel]. (sepia-tone photographs) INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Mike Weaver, author of the book's central essay, on the half-title page: "For Dick & Mickey / with love & best wishes / Mike Weaver / 10 September 1986." Issued in connection with an exhibition of Julia Margaret Cameron's photography presented by the then-newly formed photography department at the J. Paul Getty Museum, this lovely book reproduces a couple of dozen photographs from the Museum's collection in the main body of the book, while a separate section presents a complete catalog/checklist (with small reproductions, four on a page) of the 111 photos contained in a specially-prepared album presented by Mrs. Cameron to Lord Overstone in 1865. The creation and presentation of the Overstone Album, and its place in Cameron's ouevre, is discussed by Mike Weaver in his essay "A Divine Art of Photography." Also includes: documents; index of proper names & photograph titles; selected bibliography. (The inscribees were film director Richard Fleischer and his wife, from whose estate this book was acquired.) Signed by Contributor.
