"Konzise und nicht-akademisch" geschrieben, galt "die Bibel" über Jahrzehnte als Standardwerk der konservativen Frakturbehandlung - nicht zuletzt bei den Chirurgen der Streitkräfte des Vereinigten Königreichs. Sie wurde in Spanisch, Portugiesisch, Polnisch, Deutsch und Französisch übersetzt.
