Hardcover. Zustand: Very good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: very good. First Printing [Stated]. Format is approximately 5.25 inches by 7.25 inches. [12], 195 pages. Notes. Signed by the author (Howard Dean) on the title page. Howard Brush Dean III (born November 17, 1948) is an American physician, author and retired politician who served as Governor of Vermont from 1991 to 2003 and Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) from 2005 to 2009 and works as a political consultant and commentator. Dean was a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2004 presidential election. His implementation of the fifty-state strategy as head of the DNC is credited with the Democratic victories in the 2006 and 2008 elections. Afterward, he became a political commentator and consultant to McKenna Long & Aldridge, a law and lobbying firm. Dean was named chairman emeritus of the DNC upon his retirement. Dean endorsed Clinton over her competitor Senator Bernie Sanders in spite of the fact that Sanders represented the state of Vermont, where Dean had been governor. Howard Dean's rational approach to reforming politics in America is based on his experiences as Governor of Vermont and his Presidential bid in 2004. The Vermont governor and former presidential candidate calls for an end to the right-wing and special-interest agenda that has dominated America and calls for each American citizen to stand up for what he or she believes and demand a system-wide change.

Zustand: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Seiten: 284 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | This monograph series is intended to provide medical information scien tists, health care administrators, physicians, nurses, other health care pro viders, and computer science professionals with successful examples and experiences of computer applications in health care settings. Through these computer applications, we attempt to show what is effective and efficient, and hope to provide guidance on the acquisition or design of medical information systems so that costly mistakes can be avoided. Health care provider organizations such as hospitals and clinics are experiencing large demands for clinical information because of a transition from a "fee-for-service" to a "capitation-based" health care economy. This transition changes the way health care services are being paid for. Previ ously, nearly all health care services were paid for by insurance companies after the services were performed. Today, many procedures need to be pre approved and many charges for clinical services must be justified to the insurance plans. Ultimately, in a totally capitated system, the more patient care services are provided per patient, the less profitable the health care provider organization will be. Clearly, the financial risks have shifted from the insurance carriers to the health care provider organizations. For hospitals and clinics to assess these financial risks, management needs to know what services are to be provided and how to reduce them without impacting the quality of care. The balancing act of reducing costs but maintaining health care quality and patient satisfaction requires accurate information about the clinical services.

In den WarenkorbStapled paperback novelettes. Duodecimos, pp., 33, [1]; 50; 49, [1]; 34; 50; 50. Publisher's original colour-printed pictorial wraps, imprints to lower cover. Numerous black-and-white advertisements for products aimed at women within text. Staples rusted but holding well, occasional lights spots of soiling to lower covers, a few creases to covers. Contents evenly toned, commensurate with age. All excellent copies. Six necessarily scarce and ephemeral works, most ostensibly written by and for women. These volumes (as is often the case with pulp romance novelettes of the twentieth century) are poorly represented in institutional collections and WorldCat locates no copies of these titles world-wide. We also locate no copies at the University of Chicago's Collection of 1940s-60s British romance novelettes, which holds the most substantial collection of the 'New Moon' series.
