Powderly; an essay 'Woman's Work and Woman's Wages' by Charles W. Elliott in which he cites statistics that demonstrate the physical and mental harm on women in the work force, including mill work, etc., and stating that working women live a poor, hard life that in general, denegrates society. The essay also addresses women's suffrage, stating this is an added burden on women. GOOD condition. Some chipping, tearing and loss to the wraps at the head and tail of the spine and corners.
