Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. THE WORLD ON ONE LEG BY ELLERY WALTER 1928 INSCRIBED. An engaging story of a young man who loses his parents and his leg and yet travels the world on his own. I was 15 pages in before I knew it. I doubt you will put it down very easily (and I will beat you to the punch) although I should warn you that it is not exactly politically correct. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 ½ x 9 ½ inches, 325 pages) was published by G. P. Putnam s Sons of New York and London, dated November 1928 and the Third Printing of the First Edition. The book is bound in sky blue boards with gilt titles on cover and spine. It is warmly inscribed by the Author across the face of the title page (this would not have been my choice). There is a tissue-guarded b&w portrait of the Author as the Frontispiece and 47 other b&w photographs. Condition: This book is very good condition. The hard covers are generally clean, and the spine is a bit faded; they have been lightly bumped. Inside, there is a semi-erased name of a former owner on the first blank page and it seems to me that the Frontispiece must have been loose and reglued back in, and damaged with tears and light chipping along the bottom edge. The inscription across the title page is the last mark I found in the book and the interior pages and many photo plates are bright and clean throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Inscribed by Author.
