Also includes article by Jeremy Hunt on "Getting rid of toil". ("SABOTAGE is the Society for the Abolition of Toil Amongst the Gainfully Employed and its aim is to abolish monotonous, repetitive, soul-destroying work." Very good condition. "Anarchy" was an anarchist monthly magazine produced in London from March 1961 until December 1970. (Early issues were issued with the subtitle "a journal of anarchist ideas".) It was edited by its founder, Colin Ward, the leading British anarchist writer and a pioneering social historian. The journal was known for its articles on anarchism and reflections on current events from an anarchist perspective, e.g. workers control, criminology, colonialism, squatting, education. It published many important writers. "Anarchy" is generally considered the best anarchist serial of its day for both interesting content and quality of production (including distinctive art and design by the anarchist and illustrator Rufus Segar). Dark blue cloth-covered boards with black decorative stamping of the title on the front cover framed by gold stamping on the top and bottom, and gold lettering along the spine with decorative black stamped stripes. Cloth at head and foot of spine a bit frayed. Corners are bumped. Back board is blind stamped with the publisher's brand. Previous owner's inscription in pencil on front free endpaper. Frontispiece with tissue guard of illustration of two young girls, "Beata, Dear, This is my Rosy,' she said.-p.30".
