At that time, he was asked by the U.S. government to return to Spain on official business, where he was able to observe its institutions and meet public of…ficials. This work resulted from that visit. 12mo. Three quarter brown leather with blue and brown marbled paper-covered boards. Gilt title, blind-stamped devices, and raised bands to spine. Marbled endpapers and full marbled edges. Leather on corners of front and back covers is worn, and there are other minor scuff marks on spine. Dampstaining to margins of front and back free endpapers and first few and last few pages of book, with slight browning throughout. Otherwise, clean, with small stains on a few pages. A very attractive copy. 399 pages. SPANHIST/082522.
