Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First Edition,1845. Bound in embossed dark green cloth with gold titles. Binding shows edge and shelf wear, Good plus. One inner hinge and a signature are loosening, however the binding remains solid. The color frontispiece illustration of "Halo Seen at Piteain Sweden, Oct. 1839" remains bright and text is unmarked. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a handwritten number on the endpaper and the Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.
