Produced to celebrate the tercentenary of the production of Milton's Comus at Ludlow Castle. The six etchings illustrate that masque. Introduced by John Drinkwater - the introduction is followed by comments on each of the six plates and a list of subscribers. Three etchings by Frank Brangwyn and three by William Walcot. All the etchings are signed. Unprinted tissue guards. A woodcut of Ludlow Castle is printed on the largest of the inner flaps of the portfolio. There were fifty-one subscribersTissue guards creased. One tissue guard missing. One or two of the plates are slightly creased at the edges. One of the inner flaps of the portfolio has a closed tear. Very good indeed. Very scarce: Library Hub lists only the copy in Oxford.
