The Early Bronze Age remains are more definite and cover a wider area. It is in the Middle Bronze Age, however, with the coming of the Greek-speaking peoples (an archaeological theory now confirmed by the decipherment of the Linear B Mycenaean Script as Greek), the Achaeans of tradition, that the impulse toward rich and rapid development becomes evident. The resulting evolution and expansion, combining native genius and individuality with the Aegean influences then prevalent, culminate in the 15th to 13th centuries B.C. in the achievements famous in tradition and confirmed by archaeological research.
