Dozens of colour plates of exotic birds, many of which commissioned specialy for Foreign Birds, and by well-known artists including, Neville Cayley, R. A. Vowles, Lawrence and Heinzel, but it is Vowells who has made the greatest contribution, many of his plates outstanding. Generally in very good condition, some of the earlier cloth bindings are slightly worn, but remain strong, contents clean and tight, no inscriptions. An impressive and attractively bound run of this important avicultural magazine, only missing the 1933 issues: runs as comprehensive as this are rarely offered.
