Contains numerous engraved in-text illustrations, and all four other illustrated plates by R.M. Weeks and W.H. Roach, 'They Found Him' plate is placed between pp.22-23, rather than adjoining p.27. Collated complete.A collection of enjoyable provincial poems, including much enjoyable rhyme and personal poetry centered around his native state of Delaware. Poems include Uncle Tommy's Philosophy, Bobbie Never Can and The Meanest Man. Hynson had previously ran for the Delaware Governorship as a candidate under Theodore Roosevelt's short-live Progressive Party in 1912. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth.
