During World War Two, the Kellogg Foundation began supporting efforts intended to assist with the nursing shortage created by the war, and some of these efforts were in the form of school health programs. The earliest were training programs for nurses aides, but the foundation's financial support was eventually extended into the School-Community Health Project, providing new experiences in health education at all school levels. This book documents the many components of that project, including the roles of schools, the health council, colleges, preparation for teachers, and more.
