Hardback. Zustand: Very Good. Presumed First Edition. No stated date but the Preface if dated 1904. Presumed first edition. This book contains extracts and drawings from the Staff College "Drag Hunt Book" and other works done by officers during their residence at the Staff College, Sandhurst. It consists of 4 preliminary pages followed by 19 pages, with in-text illustrations, (unpaginated) containing "Hints to a Rotter by a Rotter or The Drag Made Easy"; 22 pages (unpaginated) of " Extracts from the Staff College 'Drag Hunt Book'; and 10 pages (unpaginated) of "Portraits of Several Officers at the Staff College" by Major A.D. Geddes. The book is bound in the original black half leather over dark blue cloth covered boards and gold titling on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear to the boards and some staining on the front board. The leather on the corner tips is worn with a very small bit of loss and the spine ends are rubbed. The contents are tight and clean with a split down the spine gutter of the front endpapers. This was Earl Haig's copy and the front free endpaper bears the following inscription: "General Douglas Haig from a Staff College Student, Xmas 1904". Major A.D. Geddes (illustrator). SIGNED COPY.…
