"La fotografia interroga il molteplice, può solo confrontarsi con il contingente, scivola sulla superficie del significante alla ricerca di tracce ed indizi. Salvatore Di Vilio è un indagatore del presente, sempre ingenuo e pronto alla sorpresa. Un autore è prigioniero di un mondo interiore, vive il demone delle fantasie vissute da bambino, corre per tutta la vita per ritrovare il punto di partenza. La verifica del proprio sguardo non può che avvenire che in terra straniera. Le foto della Cina di Salvatore raccontano Succivo, il basso casertano, trovano assonanze e consonanze che ci sorprendono. Il suo sguardo individua con la sicurezza, che solo il dubbio sa dare, gli elementi universali che vi sono in un viso, in un paesaggio. È un esploratore dell'animo umano curioso ed insaziabile. I fotoni di luce accarezzano il reale per riportarne impronte su supporti sensibili. Il vero fotografo è sensibilità pura, carta moschicida che comprime il reale per darne un'infinita estensione emotiva.
