Large black and white paste-down photograph on the front cover. No date on the title page or copyright page, but at the bottom of page 376, it says, 'fin du Premier volume de l'Etude Academique' Annee 1904-1905.' 380 pages. Numbered 1-380 in order, but seems to be comprised of 16 page booklets here seamlessly bound into a single volume. Each 16 page section begins with a page of text (in French and English) on a theme: L'Esthetique Feminine; L'Ideal dan l'Art; Origine de l'Art; Sentiments Humains; Les Etats d'Ame; Lois Harmoniques; Sensations Humaines; Formules Antiques; and many more. Each section contains black and white photographs of nude models, almost entirely women, but some men, some children, and some groups. Most are posed in studio (with props and backgrounds) but a few are outdoors. This is 'Tome 1' but there is no evidence that there was ever a Tome 2. Page 269/270 is detached but set in place.
