Small light brown mark affecting 3 plates, light wear wrappers, otherwise very good indeed. Street scenes (with cars and rickshaws), rural and seashore views, natives, customs including images of elephant corralling (kraaling).

Zustand: Very Good. View book with albertypes. Oblong quarto [24 cm x 29 cm] Black wraps with an illustrated paper label, depicting City Hall, on the front wrap, and a string-tie binding. Edges of wraps lightly creased. Very minor fading to the edges of the rear wrap. Title on front wrap a bit rubbed. The Albertype Company was founded by the Wittemann brothers in the late 1880s as a postcard and view book publishing company. This view book contains a fold-out panorama of Salt Lake City. Other images include "Main Street, Looking South," "Main Entrance- Salt Lake Security and Trust Co.," "Knutsford Hotel," "Elks Club," "Lafayette School," "Saltair," "Jewish Synagogue," "Mormon Temple and Tabernacle," "Groves Hospital," "Lehi Sugar Factory," and "Views of Lagoon.".

oblong 8vo, 12x 18cm., arranged in accordion style in lacquered boards, in fine bright condition, ~ Although untitled and not dated, the photographs appear to be in the late 1800's, most are hand-coloured, the binding is Lacquered Laminated Maroon Red Wood boards and decorated with flowers and birds in gold and black, the boards have beveled edges, each photograph is mounted on stiff card in neat hand-written captions in English, all plate has the original tissue guards, ~ Each photo is 10x 9cm on stiff card backings (12x 18cm), 24p., interleaved, hand-coloured, in accordion style which can viewed from front or rear, fine bright condition, rare (ds1). ~ A fine example of lacquered wood book binding decorated in beautiful Japanese floral style. The views include Japanese architecture, gardens and ordinary working people. An exceptional souvenir.
