Light cracking and staining to gutters and hinges but binding remains firm. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning with moderate tanning, staining and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends.

Internally, parts of dust jacket have been adhered to front paste-down (flaps) and front free endpaper (front illustration); following pages have interesting newspaper cuttings and a small portrait (also used as frontispiece); pages behind these attachments are discoloured; picture of a church adhered to 'list of illustrations' page; back free endpaper has a colour picture of HM's house adhered to it; owner's name on dedication page; just a few small discolouration spots tom pages; otherwise, a good, interesting copy. Used - Good. Good hardback (no dust jacket).
