Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Actress and singer Rosemary Lane appeared in 22 films from 1937 to 1945, most notably co-starring with her sisters, actresses Priscilla and Lola Lane, in "Four Daughters" (1938), "Daughters Courageous" (1939), "Four Wives" (1939), and "Four Mothers" (1941), as well as her performance in "The Oklahoma Kid" (1939), opposite James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart. 8 x 10 inches. The first part of the letter concerns a lost or stolen letter and cheque. 'Of course I shall pay you - but it is s. sweet of you to suggest the present'. She repeats information she gave in the letter about which artists' materials she would like: 'Paper for water-colour is becoming scarce too but I have some at the moment'. She turns to Ida's father Eric Forbes-Robertson, who studied in Paris with Gaugin: 'It is splendid about the Gaugin drawing of your Father; I shall hope to see it one day & any sketch books with your Father's work. He has made some beautiful little studies of trees, I remember.'.

A prolific actress, Anita Louise began her career at the age of six when she made her first Broadway performance in 1911, and in 1931 was named a WAMPA's Baby Star.Louise appeared in over 70 films between 1922 and 1952, and in the 1950s and 1960s made numerous appearances on television series and variety shows including "The Loretta Young Show," "Mannix," and "The Mod Squad." Some of her more notable performances include "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (1935), "The Story of Louise Pasteur" (1935), "Anthony Adverse" (1936), "Marie Antoinette" (1938), and "The Little Princess" (1939). 8 x 10 inches.
