Hardcover. Zustand: New. The present book is based on the human skeletal remains excavated from the Harappan site of Farmana, Haryana. The Harappan civilization is well known in the entire world for its urban nature and antiquities. The cemetery at Farmana has provided evidence of thirty-five individuals which provides glimpses of its inhabitants. Burials belong to three cultural levels ranging from 2600 to 2000 BCE of matured Harappan phase. Most of the individuals are adults and belonging to male and female categories. Very few children represented in the cemetery. The book tries to understand the way of life of its resident and throw light on their life. It shows that they were burying the dead with a lot of variations. The studies also tried to compare the Farmana crania with crania from other excavated sites from India and Pakistan. There is only one case of the trauma noticed but it shows the healing process. Most of the pathologies are related to old age and not much health issues were encountered by these individuals.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. I am pleased to present this edited volume titled 'Revisiting the Cultural Heritage of South Ast Emerging Trends to the academia which is a culmination of the proceedings of the Seventh International Congress of the Society of South Asian Archaeology (SOSAA). The congresa odatly organised by the Department of History and Archaeology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Colombo, Sri Lanka and Society of South Asian Archaeology (SOSAA), Pune in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India Colombo, Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka National Commission for UNESCO was held in online mode from 18th September 2020 to 21st September 2020. The Society of South Asian Archaeology was established in the year 2005 to provide an academic platform for archaeological and anthropological research as well as for heritage studies, to create awareness and inquisitiveness amongst common people and students about the cultural heritage of South Asian Archaeology and to promote young scholars to undertake research activities in the various fields of South Asian Archaeology The SOSAA brings Archaeologists, Historians, Anthropologists, Social Scientists and Archaeological Scientists and others on one platform to discuss some of the common issues related to population movement, cultural interaction, trade exchange, the impact of climate on cultures and social formation. The SOSAA; thus, provides an opportunity to exchange information, ideas and insights into new discoveries made from the last decades onward in South Asia. The Society of South Asian Archaeology has been organising International Congress since 2006 to share a common platform for scholars from South Asia and beyond. The previous six conferences of SOSAA were highly successful because of the direct interactions and dialogues between scholars from various South Asian and Asian countries including China, Japan, South Korea and Iran. The Seventh International Congress held in online mode due to the Covid-19 pandemic, more than 175 scholars presented papers on diverse themes such as recent researches in Archaeology. Heritage Studies and Ancient Indian Culture such as prehistory and Protohistory of South Asia, Rock Art, Harappan studies, Megalithic studies, Historical Archaeology, Archaeology of Religion, Art and Architecture of South Asia, Epigraphy, Numismatics, Museum studies, Memorial Stones, Folk Traditions and Ethnographic Survey, etc. Besides these thematic panels, 4 special sessions were also organised on Rakhigarhi Excavation Project, Rajagala Archaeological Research Project, Archaeology of Sri Lanka and Recent Perspective on Archaeology of Buddhism.
