John Gabriel Vance was born in 1885, and was a professor of philosophy at Old Hall, and a member of the British Psychological Society. He also wrote A Mirror of Personality, and Adrian Fortescue: A Memoir. This book includes chapters on scepticism, dogmatism, Descartes and the critical method, rational doubt, the validity of knowledge, the Kantian theory of knowledge, and more.
