Hardcover, 23 x 23 cm, 156 p., 250 illustraties, tweetalig Nederlands/Engels, Fine copy. Including an index. ISBN 9789058562357. 0 g.…

Hardcover, 22,5 x 22,5 cm, 96 p., 120 illustraties, Fine copy. Including an index. ISBN 9789058562951.

----- Today surrealism may be firstly known as a school in literature and fine arts, but the influence of this 20th-century school on other domains cannot be underestimated. The world of contemporary design doesn't escape a healthy portion of surreal humour. Forms with a smile bundles designs and objects of modern surrealists and shows that nothing is what it seems to be. Hairy carpets, lamps in the shape of a milk bottle, USB sticks cut from wood branches or chairs made from plush toys. Is it just humour? Or is it a stimulating statement wrapped in a contagious smile? Just like surrealism, design sometimes tells more than we think. Armed with subtle irony these new surrealists wage war against a world reigned by a certain serieux. 0 g.…

Hardback, 230x230mm, 168p, English / Dutch (NL) edition , new condition. . ISBN 9789058562302. Een unieke state of the art.------ Anyone with an eye for trends or with an affinity for novelties knows that in design it is no longer mortal sin to add decoration to the interior. Until a couple of years ago, it was just not done to break the clean design minimalism with fantasy motives. Nowadays, decorating a minimalist looking table with a vibrant ceramic or a clourful textile object seems to be a sign of excellent taste. This publication delineates and interprets this rampant trend for the first time. The authors discern three tendencies: Minimalism becomes decorated, New faces of lace and Historical styles reviewed, each illustrated with works of more than 100 designers. A unique state of the art. 0 g.…
