La direzione della rivista era di Girolamo Albrizzi, che ne fu anche lo stampatore. Ottimo insieme fresco e ben conservato con solo una leggerissima traccia di gora al margine superiore dei primi fogli. Legatura settecentesca tutta pergamena, titolo su tassello al dorso. Corposo insieme di quattro trattati del grande medico e biologo reggiano (1661-1730). Le memorie si inseriscono negli studi legati alla parassitologia umana e animale, tematiche nelle quali lautore à stato tra i precursori grazie alladozione di un approccio medico moderno basato sulla sperimentazione e sulluso della lingua italiana, elemento che lo pose allavanguardia rispetto alla ricerca medica del tempo. (10 nella prima opera e 5 nella seconda; secondo Sabia dovrebbero essere rispettivamente 3 e 12). Prima edizione di entrambe le opere, delle quali il Sabia (Opere di A. Vallisneri, nn. 97 e 98) afferma: «(la prima) è un importante saggio sulla parassitologia, con interessanti osservazioni sui vermi esistenti nel corpo umano: Vallisneri continua la descrizione delle varie sue scoperte intorno alle uova di vermi che alloggiano nel tubo gastroenterico di animali. Parla di un nuovo liquore da schizzare dentro i vasi corporei, per rintracciarne le varie diramazioni. Cita la storia di una fanciulla nata senza cranio e con un pezzo di carne al posto del cervello. (Nella seconda) l'autore tratta della mosca dei rosai, e lancia un'idea nuova sulla divisione generale degli insetti, sul loro modo di nascere. Parla della nascita della pulce, dall'uovo ai suoi sviluppi. Parla dei vermi delle pecore, dei montoni, delle capre, dei daini e dei cervi, e alla fine tratta dell'estro dei buoi e traccia l'anatomia dello struzzo». Prima edizione di ambedue le opere che secondo il volere dello stampatore e dell'autore è bene tenere unite essendo complementari. Dedicate rispettivamente a Marcello Ferigo, procuratore di S. Marco, ed ai Riformatori dello Studio di Padova: lo stesso Ferigo, Gir. Venier e Marin Zorzi. ''Curiosissimi ed eruditi trattati'' scientifici, nel primo dei quali ''l'autore comprese per la prima volta correttamente il meccanismo sul quale si basa la metamorfosi delle crisalidi. Zustand: molto buono. 3 tomi in 1 vol., in-8, pp. (6), 232, 15 tavole in rame num.: I-III, I-VII, I-III, I-II, di cui 9 ripiegate, f.t.); (16), 184; (4), 128 (con una piccola incisione a p. 105); leg. in cartone coevo (restauri al dorso e alle cerniere), titolo ms. al dorso. Iniziali e fregi xilogr, le tavole della prima e della seconda sequenza sono incise da Antonio Luciani, i bellissimi rami raffigurano insetti, vermi, piante, parti anatomiche di struzzo. Rara e ricercata seconda edizione, che include la prima edizione della terza parte, ovvero ''Nuova giunta di osservazioni.'', mancante all'impressione del 1713. L'opera, dalla prosa chiarissima e scorrevole, affronta lo studio entomologico con approccio sperimentale, basato sui principi scientifici sostenuti da Galileo Galilei che guidarono l'intera ricerca dell'autore. Gli argomenti trattati nel volume sono assai vari: nascita della pulce, anatomia dello struzzo, una nuova idea sulla divisione generale degli insetti e sul loro modo di nascere, vermi parassiti di diversi animali, pidocchi e parassiti dell'uomo, ecc. Antonio Vallisneri (Trassilico 1661 ? Padova 1730) fu medico, scienziato, naturalista e biologo italiano: "La figura di Antonio Vallisneri, pur avendo costituito un punto di riferimento irrinunciabile nei dibattiti scientifici europei dei suoi tempi, ha conosciuto una successiva, rapida dimenticanza. toccata a buona parte dei filosofi naturali connazionali a lui contemporanei." Cm. 23,5, pp. (12) 176 (8). Con due tavole incise in rame e ripiegate fuori testo ed una piccola incisione nel testo raffigurante l'isola di Zante. Legatura strettamente coeva in cart. ricoperto di carta marmorizzata e con titoli manoscritti al dorso. Esemplare genuino e marginoso, in ottimo stato di conservazione. Un'antica firma di possesso alla prima carta di guardia. Trivellato Marco ed un timbretto privato di possesso: Puppati Lorenzo. Edizione originale, piuttosto rara di quest'opera che apparve in forma autonoma o come seguito al trattato dei corpi marini che si trovano sui monti. Cfr. Con 4 tavole incise in rame al primo titolo e 9 al secondo (su 10 manca la tavola n. 1).
