Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Jesus Christ and His Revelation' is a scholarly theological inquiry that examines the nature of Christ and the essence of His divine manifestation as presented in the New Testament. Authored by Vacher Burch, D.D., this work represents a significant contribution to early 20th-century religious scholarship, blending historical analysis with deep theological reflection. The text focuses on the central theme of how Jesus Christ is revealed to humanity, exploring the scriptural and historical foundations that underpin the Christian faith. Burch navigates complex questions of Christology, seeking to provide clarity on the relationship between the historical figure of Jesus and the theological revelations that define His ministry. The book is structured to guide the reader through an investigation of the spiritual authority of Christ and the ways in which His presence has been interpreted throughout the history of the Church.Ideal for theologians, students of biblical history, and readers interested in the development of Christian doctrine, 'Jesus Christ and His Revelation' remains a pertinent resource for understanding the complexities of the revelation of Christ. This work emphasizes the historical and literary value of New Testament studies while maintaining a focus on the profound spiritual questions at the heart of Christianity. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - In this two-volume work, J. Rendel Harris (1852-1941) fundamentally shaped Biblical scholarship in the twentieth century, arguing for the existence of a 'first known treatise on Christian theology', antedating the New Testament. A palaeographer, Harris examined recurring textual corruptions of Old Testament passages in early Christian writers and surmised an underlying collection, which he called the 'Testimony Book'. The book, Harris believed, collected Biblical testimonia - passages prophesying Christ - in order to prove the legitimacy of the new Christian faith. These arguments against Judaic theology marked, in Harris's opinion, the beginnings of the Christian written tradition. Volume 1 (1916) lays the groundwork for Harris's argument by examining the use of testimonia in early Christian writers like Cyprian and Gregory of Nyssa. 'The starting point of the modern study of the use of the Old Testament in the New', this is a work of enduring importance to religion scholars.
