A 48 line holograph letter, signed, dated March 14, 1984, thanking Granger for a copy of the book and congratulating him profusely: .I cannot imagine any one of the artists you have included in your book not being thoroughly delighted and grateful with the thoughtful and most accurate way in which you have presented them. I have appeared in several Biographical Publications - but noen of them has covered my career as completely and as truthfully." Later in the letter he discusses his wife's work for the Metropolitan Opera Guild compiling "The Complete Chronicles of the Met" 1883-1983, and includes her photo of the cover of the 1909-1910 Met program for his collection.
