Es doctor en comunicación por la Universidad de Copenhague y cofundador y codirector de Ørecomm, un centro binacional de investigación en comunicación y cambio glocal. Ha sido titular de la Cátedra unesco de comunicación de la Universidad de Barcelona (2003) y profesor visitante de la Universidad de Cádiz (2012) y de la Universidad de Rhodes (Grahamstown, Sudáfrica, 2002). Trabajó durante dos años para Naciones Unidas (pnud) en Paraguay (1994-1996). Ha colaborado con universidades latinoamericanas de Brasil, Colombia, Paraguay y Chile. Es experto en comunicación para el cambio social, comunicación para la salud y estudios de audiencia. Ha impartido clases y conferencias como profesor invitado en numerosos países de África, Europa, América Latina y eeuu. Este libro es una aproximación a un aspecto poco visible del actual auge de la novela negro-criminal: la presencia abundante y decisiva de la autoría femenina. A través de sus doce capítulos, que componen un mosaico vibrante y variado de la presencia, nada anecdótica, de las autoras en el género criminal, se traza un mapa de las escritoras que, desde Lourdes Ortiz en 1979, han demostrado que la narrativa criminal, más allá de ser un reflejo de los cambios sociales en general, puede plasmar también la evolución de los estereotipos de género y de las relaciones simbólicas entre la mujer y el poder o entre la mujer y el mal.
