Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Poor. Hardcover with DJ. Yellow paper-covered boards with purple stamping of a figure in a huge crown, and purple stamping on the spine. Bottom edge of the boards show shelf wear and the head of the spine is bumped. Illustrated stamping remains eye-catching. Brownish red illustrated DJ of a figure wearing a detailed crown with birds all around, and white lettering on the front cover and on the spine (though it is very faded). DJ is chipped at the corners and missing pieces along the spine, but is placed in a protective plastic sleeve. Original price of $1.00 present on front flap of DJ. Previous owner's personal bookplate is affixed to front attached endpaper. Pencil drawing and inscription from the author, Hugh Troy, whose signature is below the signature. No date on title page. Copyright page is dated 1943. Unpaginated. Interiors are clean and free from marks or tears. Overall, a good copy with a poor DJ. Signed by Author(s).…

Marigold, a mule from a mine is brought in to take Maud's place and winds up bringing honor to herself and the Army. Red illustrated cloth over boards, illustrated end papers, 55 pages with illustrations by the author on nearly every page. Corners and spine ends bumped lightly, light soil on boards, previous owner's bookplate on front free end paper; otherwise a nice copy, interior clean, no writing or marks, binding sound.
