An exhibition catalogue of a show of the same name that took place at the McCord Museum of Canadian History (Montreal) in May 1992, celebrating its reopening. Slight yellowing to head and fore edge. Corners bumped. Text block is clean, and free of inscriptions. The spine, front, and back are yellowed, mostly to the head. Sticker residue on front cover. Slight shelfwear to the edges and rubbing marks to the front and back. Text in English and French.

A comprehensive view of the work of the giant of nineteenth-century Canadian photography. With his sons and protégés, Notman had studios in Boston and Albany, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Halifax, St. John, encompassing some 23 studios, 16 of which were in the United States. The family firm stretched from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and from the mid-1800s through the 1930s.
