A scarce work, the author's fourth book - two of his earlier novels had been published by Faber. After attending Rugby School, the author went up to University College, Oxford; he served in the Great War and was mentioned in despatches. The present work tackles 'the problems of the modern inheritance' from a female point of view, presenting through three generations 'the woman of to-day, the woman of to-morrow, and the woman of yesterday'. It is recommended by the publisher as 'a book every woman should read'. Ralph Keene executed a handful of dustjacket-designs for Faber and other publishers in the latter half of the 1920s; his work is distinctive and uniformly excellent.…
