Hardcover. Zustand: Acceptable. xviii, 976pp, many black and white photographic plates, two fold-out tables, fold-out map and colour map in pocket on rear pastedown; India paper. Navy cloth-covered boards; gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Sun-faded spine and boards; rubbed corners and spine ends, soiling and staining to boards. Text block edges starting to tan and fox. Free endpapers starting to tan, plated tanning. Gutter at half-title page cracked and stretched, volume loose. Pages at beginning of volume crinkled. Loss to bottom of page 57/58, small loss of text. Overall though a perfectly readable/working copy.

Cloth. Zustand: Good. First Edition. Illustrated, thick octavo, pp xvi, 551, very clean internally, small folding map at the rear, hinge at title page cracked and a little weak, cloth slightly faded and marked, but sound, a good copy. A duplicate from East Malling Research Station with their stamps on the front endpaper and a shelf label on the spine, but no other markings.

Very will illustrated with many hundreds of black and white photographs, plus maps and charts, and a large folding map in the rear pocket, thick octavo, pp xviii, 973, hinge at half-title wearing very slightly, blue buckram a little faded but only very slightly worn, a research station duplicate, with a rather large shelf number on the spine, a stamp and number on the frint endpaper, but no other markings.
