This extremely rare collection of poems, articles and manifestoes by Tropicalia leader Torquato Neto (1944-1972) is his first book and was organized and published posthumously in 1973 by poet Waly Salomão, who had previously edited the Tropicalia anthol…ogy Navilouca (published in 1974) with Torquato Neto himself. Torquato Neto was also a key lyricist who penned many iconic songs of the Tropicália movement; he committed suicide the day after his 28th birthday, in 1972. Offered here is the complete first edition of Os últimos dias de Paupéria, which includes the homonymous 7" single vinyl record Os últimos dias de Paupéria (numbered "TQ 24"), released by Editora Eldorado especially for the book, with fellow Tropicalia members Gilberto Gil and Gal Costa performing Neto's lyrics.
