Hardcover. Zustand: Good. First. 4to. Series 1 & 2 bound as one volume, illustrated through out in black and white. Marbled page edges, paste downs and feps. Occasional light soiling and foxing. Corners of cover rubbed and knocks, also light scuffing and soiling to front, scratch to leather parallel to spine about 2" long. Some scuffing and damage to cloth on back cover. Rubbing to leather spine, but beautiful gilt design still present and clear. Top and base of spine rubbed, with tear to top surface of leather at top of spine resulting in small triangular flap. Book.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Cassell, Petter and Galpin, London. Undated. Circa 1870s. First edition thus, first impression. Decorative and titled gilt and blind stamped cloth. All edges gilt. Black and white frontispiece with tissue guard. Illustrated throughout in black and white. No dustjacket. Top corner of fore edge of upper board rubbed and lightly bumped. Pastedowns and endpapers partially rubbed. Pages lightly tanned. Light foxing throughout. Overall, the book is in a good condition.

1p., 12mo. In fair condition, lightly aged, laid down on part of a page from an album. Reads: 'Dear Teg. | Miss Elizabeth Philp has sent a batch of Songs of her own Company to the Queen. Will you kindly interest yourself to get them a notice?'.

Zustand: Very Good. Publisher's original saddle stitched card wrap covers [soft back] with lovely colour illustrations to the front and rear covers by G. Gordon Fraser. 8vo. 7¼'' x 6¾. Contains 12 pp with sepia illustrations by Jas F. Sullivan throughout. Light marks to the covers and in Very Good condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. CHILDREN'S & JUVENILE.

Zustand: Very Good. First edition hard back binding in publisher's original brick red cloth covered boards, blocked and lettered black back and front, lemon end papers. 18mo. 6½'' x 4¼''. Contains (vii)-1, 184 pp + 8 pp catalogue with headers and tail-pieces. First work is by Thomas Hood 'Ali Ben Nous'. Minor off-setting to the end papers and in Very Good condition, no dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A. NINETEENTH CENTURY.

FIRST EDITION, colour-printed frontispiece by H.K. Browne and a further colour-printed plate by J.D. Watson, both executed by Edmund Evans, numerous other illustrations throughout, a little spotting to prelims, a few leaves dust-darkened and the occasional faint spot, pp. 96, 8vo, original colour-printed tan wrappers with a variant of frontispiece illustration, rubbed along joints with a little splitting at ends, a little creased and nicked with light soiling to rear panel, spotting to flyleaf, good. The selection includes a few pieces by W.S. Gilbert, in his pre-Sullivan days - the last of these, a cartoon entitled 'The History of a Gentleman who was Born at an Advanced Age', pre-figuring F. Scott Fitzgerald's 'Curious Case of Benjamin Button' and bringing into relief the under-explored influence of Gilbert's 'topsy-turvy' style on the jazz age author's short fiction. A scarce survival in the original wrappers.
