Present issue is inscribed to Karl Mannheim (18931947), the key figure in classical sociology and his wife, Juliska Lang. Both Mannheim and Tolnay were a member of Sonntagskreis ("Sunday Circle"), an intellectual discussion group in Budapest between 19151918. The discussed matters later led to the concept of the social history of art and the sociology of knowledge of which Mannheim is considered to be one of the founders. .
