Legatura strettamente coeva in piena pergamena floscia con unghie e nervi passanti. Esemplare particolarmente fresco ed in eccellente stato di conservazione. Prima edizione pubblicata in Italia di questo classico della giuridica apparso a Parigi in originale nel 1549 e riguardante il trasferimento del possesso senza la materiale consegna della cosa. L'important appareil de tables en début d'ouvrage démontre une volonté d'une lecture experte, discontinue et pratique. L'avertissement en latin mentionne deux éditions antérieures publiées chez Guillaume Rouillié (1518-1589) à Lyon, vraisemblablement vers 1549. Une édition parisienne (J. Kerver) in-folio avait paru en 1541 , avec un titre plus développé spécifiant que l'étude ne se limitait pas à la coutume poitevine mais englobait toute la France. Legatura coeva in piena pergamena con titolo ms. in grandi caratteri gotici al ds., al taglio inferiore e al piatto (Ds, rinnovato con conservazione di gran parte della pergamena originaria). Mancanza dell angolo inferiore, senza interessamento del testo, a circa ottanta carte iniziali. Aloni, alcune pagine brunite e un percorso di tarlo al margine inferiore di circa cinquanta carte. Fue amigo y protector de Rabelais. Escribió dos influyentes tratados: De legibus connubialibus (1513) y el que presentamos, De nobilitate. cuya primera edición vio la luz en París en 1549. Según Pierre Mesnard, el autor "terminó brillantes estudios, obteniendo el grado de licenciado en leyes, sin duda por la Universidad de Poitiers, allá por el año 1500. Después volvió a su tierra, donde le vemos progresar en la magistratura y en la administración provincial: abogado, juez y luego lugarteniente general del Senescal del Poitou en Fontenay; ostentaba el envidiable título de «suppraefectus» antes de 1524." Solida ed elegante legatura seicentesca in piena pelle, dorso a nervi con titoli e ricchi fregi in oro. Tagli colorati. Bell'esemplare, fresco, marginoso ed in ottimo stato di conservazione. Cfr. A counselor to the Parlement of Paris from 1541, Andre Tiraqueau was a dominant figure in sixteenth-century French jurisprudence and a leading legal humanist. First published in 1543, De Utroque Retractu is his landmark comparative study examining the intersection of Roman civil law and the customary law (coutumes) of Poitou, specifically focusing on the legal rights of retraction (the right to reclaim familial or transacted property). Highly influential in reconciling regional customary traditions with classical Roman frameworks, the work was widely received and went through numerous editions well into the seventeenth century. Based on paleographic evidence and thematic content, this copy features extensive margins heavily annotated by a contemporary hand in the late sixteenth or early seventeenth century. The anonymous annotator exhibits a sophisticated command of local practice, offering a critical dialogue with Tiraqueau's text. The commentary focuses heavily on issues of inheritance and succession law, alongside notes on statutory penalties (f. 16/p. 86) and legal prohibitions against the alienation of third-party goods (f. 200).
