Book is bound in dark blue cloth over boards with gold lettering on the spine. Binding is nice tight. Corners are square. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY TILP on the title page. Also included is a signed note to the recipient he gifted this copy to with Tilps' letterhead as well as an issue of Chesapeake Bay Magazine (April 1986) in which Tilp wrote an article (also with its' own signed letter). Pages are crisp, clean, and bright. Photographs printed in black and white. No date on title page. Copyright page is dated 1978. Stated first edition. 358 pages. A very nice copy. The spine is toned and the letters are rubbed. Crown and foot of the spine are bumped. The DJ is toned with small tears and rips along the edges, especially the top. A stain on the front that looks like it's from a coffee cup. The inside of the pages is lightly, evenly toned but clean and unmarked. Endpapers are a map of the Potomac. Signature on title page. Reads, "to my good friends, the Jesuit fathers of Loyola Retreat House with best wishes. Frederick Tilp." This is an oversized book.
