Zustand: Very good. - One-and-a-half pages, consisting of over 140 penned on both sides of his 7-3/4 inch high by 7-1/4 inch wide personal stationery. Holbrook has crossed out his former address and penned in a new one along the top. Responding to his friend Jean Dalrymple, Holbrook writes "I don't know what to tell you. Out of deference to the I.P.A. I should say 'please do join it', but I wonder if it could help you in any fashion. I know you could help it buy being a member. It is mainly an organization of the grass-roots people in the concert and lecture field and I owe it an allegiance since through its auspices I got started in the concert field." Signed "Hal". Jean Dalrymple has circled Holbrook's name in light red graphite at the top with a red check mark across the text indicating she'd read the letter. Folded for mailing with a paper clip stain to the top of the verso. Near fine. She began her work at City Center with its founding in 1943, serving as a board member, producer, and publicist. Her productions there from the 1940s through the 1960s were a revitalizing influence on the whole New York theatre scene.
