Softcover. Zustand: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. 23 x 30,5 cm (softcover) 80 pages (70 b/w ill.) - For Crickets, artist Mungo Thomson has collaborated with composer Michael Webster to transcribe field recordings of crickets from around the world into a musical score. Reunion Island, the Cirque de Cilaos at 1,300 m altitude, February 1998, nightfall in a banana plantation. In den Warenkorb26 x 17cm. Stapled paperback, 48pp. Fully illustrated in colour, a wordless graphic novel with deep space science-fiction themes, and a visually palindromic structure (with the final page bearing the front colophon text in reverse). Described the publisher as "a comic book without characters, captions, or speech bubbles. Instead, it examines the technology-laden dystopian fantasy world of modern comics by focusing on its background imagery. Thomson mines his own collection of comic books, redrawing a series of cells in which he preserves the original artist's style but omits the characters that would identify its origin. The result is not just a conceptual exercise; Thomson's sequence of drawings form a surprisingly cohesive story." Very good condition.
