Boards show moderate wear to edges and corner, with light plus bumping to head/tail of spine, and light shelf wear overall. Text block has moderate age toning to edges, light age toning and occasional foxing to pages interiorly throughout, and the ownership inscription of a previous owner on the second free end paper and title page ("John Breed / 1769"). Two small tears to the upper right corners of pages 23-26, a very good copy. A scarce early American imprint, illustrated with 6 exceptional, unsigned, white-line wood-engravings: Hymn (frontispiece), Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and another "Hymn" at the rear, "Breathe your still Song into the reaper's heart." Although not marked as such, this copy is from the library of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Peter Taylor and his wife, the National Book Award-nominated poet Eleanor Ross Taylor.…
