In den Warenkorbgr.8°, 25 x 17,5 cm. Deux volumes plus récents en demi-parchemin avec des titres en relief doré sur des écussons verts montés et des papiers de référence marbrés. Les plats ne sont que légèrement émoussés, les dos sont légèrement noircis. 2 feuilles par volume, 584 pages avec un total de 20 planches portrait. Texte seulement occ…asionnellement légèrement rousseur, les planches sont presque toutes plus sévèrement atteintes à cause du papier. Les cahiers initiaux de la partie II sont légèrement maculés d'eau sur le bord supérieur, s'estompant vers l'intérieur. Les deux portraits de titre avec des notes privées au verso (une demi-page dans le tome II) à l'encre courante, qui ont malheureusement saigné jusqu'à la page d'images. Ex-libris monté Carl Weltzien en première de couverture intérieure des deux volumes. Dans l'ensemble encore en bon état.--- Zwei neuere Halbpergamentbände mit goldgeprägtem Titel auf grünem montierten Schilde sowie marmorierten Bezugspapieren. Die Einbände sind nur geringfügig bestoßen, die Rücken sind leicht gedunkelt. Je Band 2 Blatt, 584 Seiten mit insgesamt 20 Portättafeln. Text nur vereinzelt minimal stockfleckig, die Tafeln sind fast alle papierbedingt stärker betroffen. Die Anfangslagen von Teil II sind am Oberrand schwach wasserfleckig, nach innen nachlassend. Beide Titelporträts rückseitig mit privaten Notizen ( in Band II halbseitig ) in verlaufender Tinte, diese leider auf die Bildseite durchgeschlagen. Montiertes Exlibris Carl Weltzien im vorderen Innendeckel beider Bände. Insgesamt noch gut erhalten. L'un des deux ouvrages principaux et les plus réussis de l'homme d'État et historien, publié depuis 1823 en quatre à dix volumes dans différents formats. --- une édition en 2 volumes comme la présente est répertoriée dans le catalogue Bibli. Nat seul pour Paris 1866. - Introductif le discours de l'auteur lors de son admission à l'Académie Fr. 1834, pp.9-109 l'esquisse de Michelet, en fin table alphabétique étendue sur les deux volumes --- Eines der beiden Haupt- und Erfolgswerke des Staatsmannes und Historikers, seit 1823 in vier- bis zehnbändigen Ausgaben unterschiedlichen Formats erschienen. --- eine 2bändige Ausgabe wie vorliegend verzeichnet der Katalog der Bibli. Rare et très bel exemplaire, en parfait état, de l'édition originale, publiée hors commerce en 190…1, sur beau papier vergé, par les soins de la belle-soeur d'Adolphe Thiers, Félicie Dosne (1823-1906). L'ouvrage est important pour la connaissance approfondie de cette période instable de l'histoire de France, notamment à propos des négociations de Thiers avec Bismarck. Il est découpé en quatre parties : Voyage diplomatique (1870), Négociations pour un armistice (octobre 1870), Préliminaires de la Paix (1871), et Présidence de la République (1871-1873), et suivi d'Annexes.
