Assim que aparece uma oportunidade, os nigerianos liberam todo seu dinamismo e espírito empreendedor reprimidos para encontrar soluções: aplicativos financeiros para superar a inacessibilidade do sistema bancário, uma revolução da energia solar para se libertar da rede elétrica pública mas também métodos artesanais (e poluentes) de refino de petróleo , negócios de e-commerce no Instagram para vender afrodisíacos tradicionais, filmes produzidos com orçamentos mínimos, livros e músicas que conquistaram o mundo. Nenhum outro país da África tem uma energia tão exuberante. E, agora que a geração de generais que venceu a guerra civil e governou o país por sessenta anos está chegando ao fim, há sinais de esperança no fato de que um número crescente de jovens se recusa a ignorar a injustiça e a violência seja ela perpetrada pelo Estado ou por outros grupos.
