From the private library of Dr William Evelyn St. Lawrence Finny who served as Mayor of Kingston-upon-Thames on seven occasions and was largely responsible for the obtaining of a royal warrant from King George V confirming the status of Kingston as a Royal Borough. His smart armorial bookplate is to the front paste down and he has made many interesting pencil notes to the margins along with two tipped-in hand written leafs referring to King John's First Charter to Kingston 26th April 1200, also tipped-in is a printed single leaf page titled 'Kingston, Extracts from the Domesday Survey, 1085-86 A.D.' SIGNED by him to the dedication leaf 'W. E. St. Lawrence Finny, Kingston 1902.'
