Die gebundenen oder nicht verfügbaren Formen werden durch PSB durch die Produktion organischer Säuren und des Enzyms Phytase gelöst und mineralisiert, wodurch sie den Kulturpflanzen zur Verfügung stehen. Außerdem erhöht dies die Verwertungseffizienz von Superphosphat. Auch Gülle verbessert die Phosphorverfügbarkeit durch die Bildung organischer Säuren wie Citrat, Oxalat, Lactat usw. während der Zersetzung, die AI und Fe binden. Somit wird die P-Bindung in anorganischen Formen, d. h. als AI- und Fe-Phosphat, durch die Zugabe von organischem Dünger verringert.
